UFC
At the age of 18, Conor made his amateur MMA debut a year later. He achieved victory in his debut match by TKO in the first round. Just a few weeks prior to his MMA debut, Conor was so impoverished that he relied on welfare in Ireland, receiving $235 weekly in government assistance checks.
In February 2013, the UFC revealed that McGregor had been signed to a multi-fight contract. On July 11, 2015, Conor earned $3.285 million when he beat Chad Mendes at UFC 189. On December 11, 2015, he made $4.5 million by defeating Jose Aldo in just 13 seconds. On March 5, 2016, it was reported that Conor earned $5.6 million while fighting Nate Diaz at UFC 196. He reportedly garnered another $5.6 million in a rematch with Nate Diaz at UFC 202. $600 Million Whiskey Company Sale
In September 2018, McGregor introduced the Proper No. Twelve Irish whiskey brand in Ireland and the U.S. Ahead of the launch, the partners brought on board Proximo Spirits as a 20% equity partner; Proximo is notably known for owning Jose Cuervo tequila. In mid-2020, this company invested $250 million to increase its ownership stake to 49%.
By April 2021, McGregor and his associates sold their remaining combined 51% share in Proper No. Twelve to Proximo Spirits. The entire deal could reach $600 million, which includes the $250 million earned through the earlier agreement with Proximo.
