What Is Dan Bilzerian’s Net Worth?

Dan Bilzerian, a renowned American venture capitalist, actor, social media personality, and gambler, boasts a net worth estimated at $100 million. Initially aspiring to become a Navy SEAL, Dan ventured through a moderately successful acting career, secured substantial earnings from poker, and achieved international fame primarily through his extravagant social media presence and notorious lifestyle. As of now, he has amassed over 33 million followers on Instagram.

His rise to fame has been largely attributed to his extravagant and provocative lifestyle, which he prominently shares on his widely followed Instagram account. Bilzerian is well-known for throwing lavish parties, showcasing his wealth, and frequently posting photos that include firearms, women, and high-stakes gambling. Although he asserts that his fortune stems from his prowess in high-stakes private poker games, the legitimacy of his claims has often been challenged. His poker journey has undeniably played a pivotal role in his ascent to fame. Apart from poker, Dan has also dipped into acting, featuring in films like “Olympus Has Fallen” (2013), “Lone Survivor” (2013), and “The Equalizer” (2014). However, these acting roles have been eclipsed by his robust social media influence and public image.

Dan’s father, Paul Bilzerian, was a notable corporate takeover expert who faced conviction for fraud and served prison time. Furthermore, Dan Bilzerian has come under fire for what many perceive as misogynistic behavior and for promoting a lifestyle centered around hedonism.

Early Life

Daniel Brandon Bilzerian, known as Dan, was born on December 7, 1980, in Tampa Bay, Florida. His father, Paul Bilzerian, gained fame as a private equity and corporate takeover specialist during the 1980s. Dan has Armenian roots through his father. By the age of 36, Paul Bilzerian had already accumulated a self-made fortune of $40 million. However, in 1988, he faced indictment for tax and securities fraud when Dan was just eight years old. In 2001, Paul declared bankruptcy, reporting merely $15,000 in assets against a staggering $140 million in liabilities. Dan’s mother is Terri Steffen, and he has a brother named Adam, who is also involved in poker. At their zenith, the family resided in a massive 28,000-square-foot mansion in Tampa, featuring ten bedrooms, which was eventually foreclosed in 2016 after Paul sought refuge in the Caribbean to evade arrest. Prior to his indictment, reports indicate that their father had established trust funds for both Dan and Adam. It remains uncertain how these funds have influenced Dan’s current luxurious lifestyle or whether any portion of them may have been tainted by Paul’s alleged fraudulent activities in tax and securities.

Dan Bilzerian’s Early Career

In 1999, Dan enlisted in the Navy. By 2000, he underwent training to become a SEAL and endured two hell weeks but was ultimately dismissed from the program just weeks shy of graduation due to a dispute with one of the instructors concerning a safety breach at the firing range. After departing from the Navy, Dan proceeded to attend the University of Florida, where he pursued majors in Criminology and Business.

Poker Career

Commencing his professional poker journey in 2009 at the age of 29, Dan achieved 180th place at that year’s World Series of Poker Main Event. That would mark his most significant achievement in an officially sanctioned poker event, with winnings exceeding $36,000.

In contemporary circles, Dan is regarded as a skilled poker player. Although his verified earnings from sanctioned poker events are relatively modest, he asserts

in private events, Dan has reportedly won millions, and even tens of millions.

In 2011, Dan, along with ten other celebrities including Tobey Maguire and Nick Cassavetes, was required to repay the money they had won from Ponzi scheme artist Bradley Ruderman after Ruderman’s sentencing to prison. The repayment was meant to assist the victims Ruderman had defrauded during his criminal activities. That year, Dan also publicly supported Alex Rodriguez against allegations of illegal gambling.

During one particularly memorable event, Dan allegedly won $12.8 million, with $10.8 million coming from a single heads-up, no-limit hold ’em match at stakes of $5,000-$10,000. Following his victory, he promptly took a private jet to Mexico to celebrate. In 2014 alone, Dan claims to have won $50 million playing poker, although he has also lost over $3 million on three separate occasions. He was recognized as the “Funniest Poker Player on Twitter” by “Bluff Magazine” and is additionally the co-founder of Victory Poker.

Ignite

Dan Bilzerian is the owner of the company Ignite, which markets electronic cigarettes, CBD oils, vodka, water bottles, and other products. Reports indicated that the company incurred losses exceeding $50 million in 2019, primarily due to marketing and office rental costs. “Forbes” has reported that many of Dan’s properties and all his extravagant possessions are billed to Ignite International Ltd.’s corporate account.

Acting Career

Apart from playing poker, he has also made appearances in films such as “Olympus Has Fallen,” “Lone Survivor,” “The Other Woman,” “Extraction,” “The Equalizer,” “Cat Run 2,” and “War Dogs” released in 2016.

Bilzerian initiated a lawsuit against the producers of “Lone Survivor,” asserting that he had loaned the company $1 million in exchange for a minimum of 8 minutes of screen time and 80 words of dialogue. Ultimately, his part was reduced to less than one minute with merely one line of dialogue in the final cut. He sought $1.2 million in damages, which included his initial loan plus 20%. This lawsuit was later dropped as Dan had gained significant publicity from the situation, and he subsequently made $1.5 million from his investment due to the film’s success.

In August 2014, a Miami nightclub banned Dan after an incident where he kicked model Vanessa Castano in the face during a confrontation. Dan claimed that Vanessa and another woman had attacked his girlfriend. Castano then sued Dan for $1 million for the injuries she sustained.

Later that same year, Dan found himself involved in a lawsuit with pornographic actress Janice Griffith. During a photo shoot for “Hustler,” he allegedly threw her off a roof and into a pool; however, she ended up sustaining a broken foot after missing the pool and hitting the edge instead. She requested $85,000 from Bilzerian to cover her injuries, which he refused. Griffith subsequently filed a lawsuit against both him and “Hustler.”

In December of that year, Bilzerian was arrested at LAX Airport on bomb-making charges. However, the charges against him were eventually dropped, and he was released.

the same day. In February 2015, Dan entered a no contest plea to the accusation of “negligently failing to extinguish a fire in the open,” leading to a fine of $17,231.

He refers to himself as the Playboy King of Instagram. His extravagant lifestyle has been so excessive that Dan has suffered three heart attacks before turning 32. Personal Life

In June 2015, Bilzerian made public his intention to run for President of the United States. In 2016, he subsequently endorsed Donald Trump, which became somewhat ironic when it was exposed that Hillary Clinton had rented Dan’s private jet to travel throughout much of the campaign. More details on this will follow later in the article.

Dan journeyed to Armenia in August 2018 with his brother Adam and father Paul to take their oaths for Armenian citizenship. While in Armenia, he visited a shooting range and discharged firearms. This action prompted the government of Azerbaijan to send a protest note to the U.S. Department of State. Following this, a court in Baku issued an arrest warrant for Bilzerian, placing him on the international wanted list.

On October 1, 2017, Dan was at the scene of the mass shooting in Las Vegas. He had recorded himself multiple times that night and shared videos on his Instagram. In his first video, he was seen escaping to safety, while in the second, he declared, “Had to go grab a gun. I’m f—cking headed back.” However, in his final footage, he was en route home and stated, “I don’t think there’s much I can do.” His actions that night sparked significant media discussion.

Dan Bilzerian Real Estate

Throughout the past decade, Dan has resided in Hollywood Hills, Bel Air, and Las Vegas. Most of his homes outside Nevada have been rented. For tax advantages, his primary residence is Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2014, he acquired a 5-bedroom house in Summerlin South, Nevada, for $4.1 million. This custom residence is nestled within one of the city’s elite communities, The Ridges, adjacent to a private golf course. Featuring five bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a pool and hot tub, underground parking, a built-in backyard bar and grill, and a gun vault boasting capacity for up to 1,000 firearms, he sold this property in 2017 for $5.1 million.

In 2018, Dan spent $8.5 million on a new home in the Las Vegas area. This 5-acre estate, situated in the Spring Valley neighborhood, contains a mansion spanning 40,000 square feet, which he listed for sale in September 2024 at $25 million.

In 2018, Dan also rented an enormous four-story mansion in Bel Air with 12 bedrooms, reportedly costing $50,000 a month. Prior to this, he was paying $39,000 monthly for his residence in Hollywood Hills. In his new mansion, which he aspires to make resemble a nightclub, amenities include a two-lane bowling alley, a wine cellar, a movie theater, a sports room, andfive bars.

Bilzerian Family Mansion in Tampa

In the early 1990s, a lakefront mansion spanning 28,000 square feet was custom-built by Dan’s father on a 3.4-acre plot within a gated community in the suburbs of Tampa. This residence boasts ten bedrooms, 19 bathrooms, a movie theater, a wine room, four fireplaces, and a swimming pool complete with a water slide and waterfall. Furthermore, an entire “athletic wing” features an indoor basketball court, racquetball court, and a fully equipped professional gym:

Shortly after their arrival, Paul Bilzerian faced arrest and securities fraud charges. The family attempted to sell the property in 2004, but the sale was claimed to be linked to an LLC they controlled, leading to the bank seizing the mansion. From 2008 onwards, it remained unoccupied. In 2016, it was sold at a bankruptcy auction yet remained vacant. When re-listed for sale in January 2022 at a price of $5.133 million, the listing photos revealed some of Dan’s childhood belongings, such as Little League photographs, still present in his old bedroom. The property was later re-listed three months after for $6.6 million, but as of this writing, it remains unsold.

Private Jet

Dan’s private jet is a 1987 Gulfstream G-IV, accommodating up to 22 passengers depending on its configuration. This aircraft is registered under a corporation named “GOAT Airways LLC” (likely referencing “greatest of all time”) based in Santa Monica, California. The aircraft registration number concludes with the letters “DB,” which many interpret as a nod to Dan Bilzerian’s initials.

During the Presidential campaign featuring Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, Dan’s private jet made a notable appearance. Clinton reportedly rented Dan’s plane through a third-party charter service during her campaign. Below is an image of Hillary disembarking from Dan’s private jet in August 2016 at an airport in Santa Anna, California:
